DIRECTORY OF COMMITTEES
Tequesta Trace Volunteer Opportunities
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, remember you must register on line at www.getinvolvedineducation.com and fill out your on-line volunteer application. Once you are in the system, you will then be able to be accessed in the S.T.A.R. system and receive your volunteer badge.
Beautification/Gardening: Responsible for beautifying and maintaining garden areas on campus.
Book Fair: Volunteers are needed to help in the sale of books to students during and/or after school. Chairperson :
Our next Book Fair is TBA.
Historian: Keeps track (scrapbook) of all the PTA programs and
activities. Volunteers help by taking photos of events. Chairperson needed.
**Reflections: Works with the staff to showcase the talents of the
students in Art, Poetry and Music. Chairperson : TBA
Clothing Bank: The PTA organizes a clothing drive during the school year.
This committee sorts and organizes the clothes, and reviews clothing supplies
stored in the Clothing Bank. Chairperson: Debbie Lau.
Health and Safety: Volunteer for a 2 hour shift in the clinic…assist
students with first aid or offer a comforting hand when they are not feeling
well. Chairperson : Laima Morin
Hospitality: This committee plans, orders and coordinates PTA sponsored
food and beverage events throughout the year. Helpers are needed to shop, set
and clean up events…bakers are always needed. Chairperson : Lynn Frank/Lori Alvarez
Kids for Improvement: Award celebration for students who demonstrate
improvement for each quarter. Chairperson needed.
Literary Fair: Volunteers help judge literature written by students…each
piece is judged by 4 to 5 volunteers.
Media Center: Volunteer for a few hours to help with the Book Fair in
October. Your assistance is always appreciated. The Media Specialist and her staff do the scheduling. We will pass the list of volunteers on to them.
Special Requests: Throughout the year, the faculty and staff need
volunteers in different areas such as picture day, hearing screening, etc. If
you have any special interest, please let us know. First picture day is scheduled for August 30, 2006.
Career Day Speakers: Parents and Grandparents are encouraged to participate in Career Day and share their work experiences with the students.
Fundraising: Volunteers help with our Fall Fitness Fest and Cookie Dough sales. Chairperson: Ellen Zwiebel
