Welcome To Eighth Grade Gifted Language Arts,
Periods 1, 2,& 6

Eighth Grade Language Arts
Periods 3 and 4.

Respect yourself first by being the best you can be. Learn to like yourself, and others will like you too. Respect others including your family, fellow students, and adults...especially your teacher!
Responsibility for yourself, your work, your supplies, your assignments, and projects is now "your" job. Do it well!Also, be responsible for others who are less fortunate or who have a problem that you can help with. That will make you a better person.
Reasoning is the ability to see things that you do, right through to the consequences, good or bad. "Think" any situation through before you act on it. That's the reasonable thing to do!
Binder Order
*Daily Vocabulary
*"Inspiration Quotes" (one per week)
*Reports/Reading Log
*Literature/Novel Journals
*Active Activities
*Writing (FCAT, prompts, notes, etc.)
*Poetry
*Grammar (Students also have a grammar journal in class.)
* Homework is listed on the board daily and remains there throughout the week. It is the student's responsibility to get the assignments off of the board if they are absent.
* Students are reminded to write all assignments in their agenda books daily, and projects due dates are to be entered in the calendar.
* The calendar on this web site also includes important due dates.
*Supplies are the responsibility of the student. They include:
1) 1 three ring binder with 1 1/2" rings
2) 8 pocket subject dividers
3) 12 (minimum)protective sleeves for important papers
4) 1 package of reinforcement rings for paper
5) loose leaf paper (at all times)
6) TTMS Agenda Book (courtesy of the PTA
7) 1 glue stick
8) 1 pocket dictionary
9) 1 package of 3x5 note cards
10) 1 any colored highlighter
11) Blue or Black erasable pens
12) Other supplies may be requested later for class projects.
PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE ANY MATERIALS FROM THE BINDER UNTIL INSTRUCTED BY YOUR TEACHER.
Your binder is used a both an organizer and a portfolio.
