The Purpose

The purpose of the Human Relations Council is to SUPPORT:

*A school environment where respect for diversity is promoted and practiced daily.

*The belief that all individuals should be treated with respect and dignity.

*A school environment where all students feel safe within their own identity.

*Positive human relations in school related programs and activities (i.e., sports, cultural, etc.).

*A school environment where students demonstrate a positive attitude of teamwork and cooperation.

 

Our Mission

The Diversity & Equal Educational Opportunities Departmaent fosters an environment of equality and positive human relations for Internal and External customers. That ensures ALL students receive a quality education.

 

Membership



Membership is open to all students who meet the following criteria:



*Students must obtain 2.0 or above grade point average.



*Students must mantain satisfactory conduct.



*Students must be in regular school attendance.



*Existing members shall actively recruit students for membership who represent the diversity of the school (race, religion, economic status, abilities, special needs, linguistic differences, etc.).



*Membership intake will be documented and monitored by the Office of Diversity & Cultural Outreach.



*Members shall resolve all disputes in a respectful and non-threatening manner.
