This is coach Shores fifteenth year teaching at Tequesta Trace Middle School. He came to South Florida to teach at Tequesta and be the varsity basketball coach at Western High School. He gave up the basketball position after three years. He has coached the boys softball and basketball teams at Tequesta. Coach Shore has been a physical education teacher and coach for 45 years. He has coached basketball in New York State, Kansas, Germany, Puerto Rico and Australia. He has coached basketball on every level including professional. He was even once a part owner in a professional basketball team. Coach Shore is presently working on an individual basis with several basketball players who want to better their skills. He is actually working with players who are presently in the NBA. Coach Shore has a wealth of knowledge to share with his students. All he asks in return is that they Just Do What’s Right. (J.D.W.R.) is coach Shore’s trademark. He has shirts that he gives out to students that try hard to do the right thing all the time. He knows that this is not always possible but he insists that they try their best.
Coach Shore has been married to his wife Betty for 46 years. They have two sons Brad and Daryl and a daughter Jennifer. Brad played Div.I soccer at The University of Tulsa, has been involved in hockey on the professional level and is presently doing quite a bit of indivdual soccer instruction in our area. Daryl spent ten years as an assistant coach with the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer (MLS). He presently is the head coach of The Ft. Lauderdale Strikers our professional soccer team here in South Florida. Let's make sure we all get out to Lockhart Stadium to support Daryl's team. Jennifer was an all-city soccer player her senior year of high school in Wichita Kansas. She is a graduate of The University of Arizona and is presently a kindergarten teacher in Boca Raton Fl. It looks like coach Shore and his wife have been successful in raising their children. It is probably a good idea to listen closely to what Coach Shore is teaching us in his physical education classes.
