Who We Are: National Junior Honor Society, or NJHS is a worldwide organization that consists of middle school students around the country. Selection of members is based on five criteria: citizenship, service, leadership, scholarship and character. Members must maintain a high grade point average (the national minimum is 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) and become good citizens by participating in service projects. The NJHS requires students to serve the community, school, and/or other organizations.
Our History:The National Junior Honor Society was founded in 1929 in the hopes of creating an organization that would recognize and encourage academic achievement while also developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. The ideals of scholarship, character, service, and citizenship remain as relevant today as they were in 1929. Through the NJHS chapter service activities and academic standards members maintain and extend the qualities that won them selection.
This year's National Junior Honor Society has accomplished so much but unfortunatly this year is coming to an end. NJHS would like to thank all its members for they're ongoing participation in service, inside and outside school. We would also like to give a very special thanks to Mrs. Jessica Cooper, without her I don't believe our accomplishments could have been as great as they were. Congratulations to all the 7th and 8th graders who were recently inducted into NJHS. To all the 7th graders: Please accept the torch from this year's chapter, and continue our legacy.
