INTRODUCTION:
Softball is truly an American Game. It is very similar to
baseball and is played in South Florida middle schools instead of
baseball. Most middle schools have both boys and girls teams.
South Florida high schools have baseball for boys and softball for
girls. Softball and baseball are unique team games in that it
takes great individual skill to have a good team.

play normal softball rules, however, there will be a six run rule
in any one inning, except to catch up in last inning.
Coach Shore’s Thoughts:
Baseball is the American pastime. Sometime during a youngsters
education he or she should be taught how to bat, throw, field and
run the bases. Softball in our physical education classes is a
perfect time for this to take place. If a youngster never plays
softball again we at Tequesta hope they will at least have some
understanding of the game so that they can enjoy being a
spectator.
