Here is a quote that I learned in middle school, one that I have always lived by. This school year, I hope that you too will embrace its central principle.
"The heights by great men [and women] reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night." Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Middle Grades Mathematics Grade 8 Course Description The curriculum for Middle School Grade 8 Mathematics is designed to build on the information taught at earlier grade levels and transition into the information that will be covered in high school at the 9th grade level. This course will provide a solid foundation in fundamental middle grades topics such as fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, and percents while integrating key concepts in algebra, geometry, statistics and data analysis needed for future math courses. The curriculum is designed to have a considerable emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving. This course will include a mix of independent and group work as well as research.
