Mrs. J. Newmark

”Alone we can do so little; Together we can do much.”

Greetings From Mrs. Newmark

"Alone we can do so little; Together we can do so much” ---Helen Keller

dot Welcome to 6th Grade Math. I hope you all had a great Summer. I also hope the transition to middle school requires very little effort and is filled with unforgettable memories. I expect and look forward to lots of fun and great learning gains in this 2011-2012 school year!!!!

Famous Quote

We often discover what will do, by finding out what will not do; and probably
he who never made a mistake never made a discovery.
---Samuel Smiles

Homework

Homework is listed on the board daily. Students are to write all assignments in their Tequesta Trace agendas. When absent, the student has two (2) days to make up the missed assignment. It is the student's responsibility to get the assignment from the board or the calendar and turn it in within two days, not including day of return. If the student is absent on a test day, the test will be given on the first day of return.

Please click on the calendar link to the left to view current assignments and information on upcoming tests and quizzes. Parents and students can check grades at https://gradebook.browardschools.com/piv.

HOW CAN I GET THE MOST CREDIT FOR MY MATH ASSIGNMENTS?

1. Make sure all work is done in PENCIL, red pens are for corrections only).
2. All work must have a proper heading, i.e., name, date, page and number(s). Mid chapter tests, quizzes and chapter tests must have a title.
3. All work must be numbered down the page and each page may only have at most two columns.
4. All notes and homework assignments must be completed IN YOUR SPIRAL.
5. When doing homework or tests, you must
*First write down the problem (you do not have to write out word problems).
*Under the problem, you must show all steps used to solve the problem. NO WORK-NO CREDIT.
Keep in mind, the more work you show for a problem, the better chance you will have of receiving          partial credit.
*Finally, write your answer under the work and circle, box or highlight your answer.
6. Please keep all returned/graded papers in your math folder until the end of each quarter.
