dotIn World History we will study cultures and history from
around the world starting with the "dawn of civilization" and ending with the “Age of Enlightenment”.

We will be examining why people live as they do, and how history has affected the present.

Areas of Study

We will begin our journey back in the “Stone Age”, learning about the earliest civilizations.
We will travel to the “Bronze Age” where we will discover how the Ancient Egyptians became one of the earliest empires.
In the “Iron Age” the Greeks and Roman Empires reigned supreme and gave us many technological advancements.
During the “Pre-Industrial Revolution” the Dark ages brought famine and fear until the “Age of Enlightenment” –the renaissance- restored civilization

 

 

SUPPLY LIST: (needed everyday)
1. A folder or notebook for keeping class work and Homework.

2. Ample supply of Notebook paper.
3. Spiral Notebook or composition book for DAILY warm ups.

(warm up quizzes twice per quarter)
4. Red Pen or Red pencil for in-class grading

5. Pencils (#2 for tests)

6. Blue or black ink pens.
7. Colored Pencils for projects and maps.
8. Agenda to write down daily homework (provided by school).

 

Suggested items:

2GB (or larger) flash drive for saving project work from the computer.

Headphones or earbuds for listening to Brainpop videos on the computer.
