Volunteer Guidelines For Those Interested In Volunteering At Tequesta Trace Middle School

All previous volunteers who wish to volunteer at Tequesta Trace this year MUST go online and again prepare an online application in order to be approved for this school year. This applies to both Level 1 and Level 2 clearance volunteers. The online application is available on the following website: www.getinvolvedineducation.com.

Returning volunteers that wish to retain their Level 2 clearance MUST also reapply for Level 2 clearance by preparing a VECHS (Volunteer & Employee Criminal History System) form and Security Background form, both of which are available at the school. Upon completion of these forms, the school will fax them to the Security Clearance office where your fingerprints will be re-submitted. There will be NO NEED to be re-fingerprinted.

VOLUNTEERS/ CHAPERONES (DAYTIME FIELD TRIPS ONLY ARRIVING BACK PRIOR TO 7:00PM / SAME DAY)

Anyone interested in volunteering their time at Tequesta Trace Middle School must FIRST apply online to become a volunteer. The website to visit for the online application is  www.getinvolvedineducation.com. Complete the application online and check with our school within about a week to see if your application was approved. If so, we will then give you instructions on how to activate your volunteer status. This will give you a LEVEL 1 Security Clearance as a volunteer to allow you to work with students in a supervised setting.

CHAPERONES (OVERNIGHT FIELD TRIPS or ARRIVING BACK AFTER TO 7:00PM / SAME DAY), MENTORS, CLINIC VOLUNTEERS, VOLUNTEER COACHES

 If any "Approved" volunteer wishes to volunteer in the above capacities, they MUST FIRST upgrade their security clearance to a LEVEL 2 prior to the event or volunteer dates. To upgrade their clearance status, they must stop by the school and contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Mr. Gomez or our Security Specialist, Mr. Wurtzberg. The volunteer will be issued an actual volunteer application to complete and be approved by Mr. Gomez. The volunteer will then be responsible to visit the K.C. Wright Administration Building in downtown Fort Lauderdale to be fingerprinted at no cost to the volunteer. Again, within a week, the volunteer must contact our school to determine if their LEVEL 2 clearance was granted by the Security Clearance Office. (PLEASE ALLOW ADEQUATE TIME PRIOR TO THE EVENT FOR YOUR SECURITY CLEARANCE).They will then be allowed to participate in any of the above categories.
